GROGLAUCOMA RESEARCH ORGANIZATION
About GRO

Advancing glaucoma research through scientific innovation and clinical collaboration

An independent, physician-scientist-led research organization established in 2019.

Glaucoma Research Organization (GRO), LLC was founded in 2019 to support the scientific planning, coordination, execution, and oversight of clinical research and clinical trials in glaucoma and related ophthalmic conditions.

Its current activities focus on investigator-initiated research in normal-tension glaucoma, early retinal ganglion cell dysfunction, objective functional biomarkers, and potentially modifiable non-IOP risk factors.

Through rigorous investigation and scientific exchange, GRO seeks to improve understanding of glaucoma pathophysiology and contribute evidence that may support earlier diagnosis, improved risk assessment, and future neuroprotective approaches.

Our mission

To advance glaucoma research through rigorous clinical investigation, scientific collaboration, and innovative approaches to early detection, risk modification, and neuroprotection.

Our vision

To help transform glaucoma care by advancing research that identifies neuronal dysfunction before irreversible vision loss and investigates opportunities for earlier, more effective intervention.

Current research model

GRO currently conducts investigator-initiated research. Future collaborations and sponsored research opportunities may be explored as its programs develop.
